How to Bake a Delicious Gluten-Free Bundt Cake

Are you a fan of delicious, moist cakes but have to stick to a gluten-free diet? Look no further! In this article, we will guide you on how to make a mouth-watering gluten-free bundt cake. The best part? It’s super easy to make!

Preparing the Ingredients

Before we dive into the baking process, it’s essential to ensure that the butter, milk, and large eggs are at room temperature. Bringing these ingredients to room temperature allows them to blend seamlessly, resulting in a perfectly moist cake. If your environment is warm, the butter may take some time to reach room temperature. To speed up the process, try cutting it into smaller chunks and let it sit on the counter while you gather the other ingredients.

When it comes to choosing the right pan for your bundt cake, opt for one that can hold 10-12 cups of batter. A 9″ Bundt Pan works great, but if you don’t have one, a 9×13″ pan or two 9″ round cake pans will do the trick (just make sure not to overfill them!).

Baking the Gluten-Free Bundt Cake

Now that we have everything prepared let’s start baking our gluten-free bundt cake!

Step 1: Preheat the Oven

To ensure even baking, preheat your oven to 325F. By baking the cake at a slightly lower temperature, the middle will have enough time to bake fully without the outer edges becoming dry or overdone.

Step 2: Combine the Dry Ingredients

In a small bowl, whisk or sift together the gluten-free flour, almond flour, baking powder, baking soda, and kosher salt. This mixture will give your cake a delightful texture while keeping it gluten-free.

Step 3: Mix the Wet Ingredients

Using a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, combine the unsalted butter, white sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Beat the ingredients at medium speed for about 2 minutes or until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Don’t forget to scrape the sides of the bowl with a flexible spatula halfway through to ensure everything is well incorporated.

Step 4: Add the Eggs

Add the eggs to the mixture one at a time, allowing 30 seconds between each addition. The batter may look curdled, but don’t worry! Once you add the dry ingredients, it will come together beautifully.

Step 5: Alternate Dry and Wet Ingredients

Now, it’s time to add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients. Do this gradually, one-third at a time, alternating with the milk. Mix until the batter has a smooth consistency. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a denser bundt cake. Give the batter a few good stirs with a flexible spatula, ensuring there are no pockets of flour hiding at the bottom of the pan.

Step 6: Grease and Pour

Thoroughly grease the inside of the Bundt pan with nonstick spray or butter. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly using a small offset knife or flexible spatula. Let the batter rest on the counter for 5-10 minutes to allow any air bubbles to escape.

Step 7: Bake to Perfection

Place the bundt cake pan in the preheated oven and bake at 325F for 50-55 minutes. When it’s ready, the top of the cake will have a golden-brown hue, and a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center will come out clean (a few moist crumbs are okay). Using a digital thermometer, ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 200F.

Step 8: Cool and Unmold

Carefully remove the bundt pan from the oven and place it on a cooling rack. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then, invert the slightly cooled bundt cake onto a wire rack set over a sheet tray. If you greased the pan generously, the cake should slide out without any issues.

Congratulations! You’ve successfully baked a delectable gluten-free bundt cake. The only thing left to do is to indulge in its irresistible taste!
